No. 10 Restaurant + Bar welcomes Ashleigh Wood, the new restaurant manager to the team.
Ashleigh’s managing background began at Patisez, where she was manager of the city store; before moving over to Social & Co. where she worked with the executive chef and owners in starting up their restaurant from the ground up.
Finally, she returned to Patissez to work as operations manager for both Canberra locations before beginning her position as restaurant manager here at No. 10 Restaurant + Bar.
Ashleigh’s passion for hospitality blossomed at the tender age of 14, where she began her first job as a waitress. From that moment on she has fallen in love with the industry, and with a great passion for food stemming from the large Italian family she grew up in. Over the last 10 years Ashleigh has worked in restaurants, bars, cafes, and completed a diploma of events at CIT.
We interviewed Ashleigh herself to find out a bit more about her new position.
What drew you to No. 10 Restaurant + Bar?
What drew me to No. 10 was absolutely the team and Abode Hotels' food and beverage aspirations. I love to learn and I especially love to learn about this industry, I knew straight away by meeting Joe and hearing about Duncan and the team that this was the place for me to grow, learn, and create!
What does your usual day as restaurant manager consist of?
My usual day consists of general restaurant administration like banking, liaising with hotel management, ordering and stock control, and rostering. Then straight into lunch service where I host the restaurant, as well as for dinner service.
What are you looking forward to the most about working at No. 10 Restaurant + Bar?
I am most looking forward to working with an energetic and enthusiastic team with a common goal of achieving great food and beverage experiences not just at No. 10 but across Abode Hotels.
